Legal Assistant - Corporate

Stratford Office

Key Responsibilities:
•    Preparing and filing incorporation documents, resolutions, and corollary documents
•    Maintaining corporate files, records, and minutebooks 
•    Collecting, reviewing, and summarizing materials for corporate records 
•    Communicating with clients, providing updates and status reports, and taking instructions
•    Drafting routine documents such as by-laws, resolutions, and letters
•    Conducting various corporate searches and ordering NUANS reports
•    Administering and updating the FastCompany database to ensure compliance with the requirements of provincial and federal legislation 
•    Liaising with lawyers, students, and clients 
•    Assisting with due diligence and updating minute books in connection with corporate transactions 
•    Identifying and solving corporate issues

 

Skills and Experience:
•    Graduate of a law clerk or legal assistant course or diploma, or background in legal services
•    Experience in corporate law
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products 
•    Interest in advancing your legal career
•    Strong organizational and time management skills
•    Ability to maintain independent work focus, resourcefulness, reliability, professionalism, and able to operate and contribute to a multi-faceted team environment
